ZoneSafe by Avonwood is a tag based Proximity Warning and Alert System (PWAS), which uses Active RFID technology. RFID or Radio Frequency Identification is at the heart of what we do as a company and we have been applying and delivering RFID solutions for over25 years.

ZoneSafe is also known as a Proximity Warning System (PWS), Proximity Detection System (PDS), Proximity Detection and Alert System (PDAS), Proximity Warning and Detection System (PWDS) or Worker Alert System (WAS).

ZoneSafe has been on the market for over 10 years and uses our own in-house engineering and unrivalled experience of RFID technology to deliver a unique and leading proximity warning, detection and alert system. This experience and knowledge enables us to overcome many of the technical problems found with other RFID or Low-Frequency Magnetic Field based proximity warning systems which are on the market. Some of these issues include irregular shaped detection zones, line of sight operation, null zones in the detection zone, radio frequency interference and problems with obstructions.

Not all RFID based Proximity Warning Systems perform the same because radio frequencies and tag types behave differently to each other. Unlike other RFID based systems, ZoneSafe is a proven system which will detect personnel wearing transponders through walls, racking, around corners, blind spots and other types of obstructions.
