Siegen. It takes more than just a few good words to convince experienced civil engineering entrepreneur Andreas Bald of the worth of a new construction machine. The case here was the purchase of a new crawler excavator in the 23 t class. After intensive testing in practical applications, the Bald construction company from Kreuztal – Littfeld in the Siegerland region decided on the Terex crawler excavator series TC225 LC model. “The speed of the chassis and hydraulics and the strong digging forces finally tipped the balance,” mentions company director Andreas Bald.
In addition to the backhoe bucket, a ditch bucket and a clamshell bucket were ordered right away for the "new one" in order to expand the machine's range of applications even further. “For smaller construction companies, such as ours, this is especially important nowadays,” Andreas Bald emphasizes. “This way, our Terex can also be used for foundation work with the clamshell bucket, which previously required a second excavator.”

Right after machine acceptance, the Terex crawler excavator was put to work. The excavation for the basement of a single-family home in a suburb of Siegen was pending. Andreas Bald himself climbed into the TC225 LC for this. 350 cubic meters of soil belonging to soil class 4/5 and ranging from cohesive soil to firm ground had to be removed for the excavation of the basement and foundation. The sensitive controllable hydraulic system, which ensured smooth and high-precision working cycles, was absolutely suited to the work carried out. The entire foundation work was finished in only half a work day.

Andreas Bald sees another advantage in the transportation system that his new excavator features. With it, he is able to transport the Terex TC225 LC with his own 3-axle flatbed truck, which features a loading capacity of 24 t.
